Screen resumes in bulk

Add a Resume Screening round, upload the whole pile at once, and get a ranked table of readiness scores with no interview required.

Before you start

  • A job with a job description and a requirement list with a level on each row.
  • The resumes, as files you can upload in one go.
  • 1 Hire Credit per resume scanned.
Steps

6 steps, in order.

1

Add a round and pick the Resume Screening card

Add a round to the job and pick Resume Screening on Basic Details. There is no round type to pick, no question set and no time limit. This round does not interview anyone. It reads resumes against the job and returns a readiness score.

Resume Screening is one of the five Interview type cards. It runs without an interview.

2

Upload the resumes in bulk

Upload the whole pile in one action rather than one file at a time. Each resume that is scanned costs 1 credit, which is the smallest unit of billing on the platform.

Bulk upload, per-candidate scores and status in one table.

  • 300 resume scans is roughly the Explorer plan's monthly pool. Budget the batch before you upload.
3

Or collect resumes with your referral link

You do not have to gather the files yourself. Settings, then Profile, has a resume referral link on the form work.experthire.io/resume-share/your-username. Share it on a post, in an email or with a referral partner and every resume submitted through it lands straight in your candidate pool, ready to screen. The same page holds your personal instant meeting link.

  • The username in both links is editable, so set it before you share the link anywhere public.
4

Let the round score against the JD and the requirements

Skills, experience and education are analysed against the role to produce a readiness score per candidate. The same two inputs as everywhere else: the requirements you set a level on and the JD you set up.

5

Sort, read and shortlist

The round gives you a table with a score and a status per candidate. Sort it by score, shortlist the strongest from the table, and export to CSV if the client or the hiring manager wants the list in a spreadsheet.

  • Read a few resumes at the score boundary before you set where the boundary is.
6

Send the shortlist into the first interview round

Promote the shortlist into the next round on the same job, usually a General Interview or a Coding round. The candidates carry their screening score with them, so you can see who was strong on paper and weak in the room.

  • A resume score is paper evidence. It is not a hiring decision and it is not a substitute for an interview.
What you get

At the end of this guide.

A readiness score per resume, scored against the same JD and requirements as the interviews.

A sortable candidate table with score and status.

A CSV export for anyone who wants the list outside the platform.

A shortlist that walks into the next round with its history attached.

A shareable referral link that drops resumes into your candidate pool without you collecting files.

Common mistakes

What goes wrong, and the fix.

Uploading resumes before the requirements are set.

Set the requirements and their levels first. The score is only as good as what it is scoring against.

Treating the readiness score as a decision.

It ranks paper. Interview the band around your cut-off before you write anyone off.

Uploading one file at a time.

Bulk upload takes the batch in one action and gives you the whole table at once.

Running a full interview loop on 400 unscreened applicants.

A resume scan is 1 credit. An AI interview is 5. Screen first.
