Mia is the copilot in your sidebar. Create a role from one sentence, get a ranked shortlist with reasons, move a candidate's stage and book an interview, with a confirmation before anything is written.
Mia sits in the left sidebar under Workspace, above Integrations and Members, as Chat with Mia. The route is /dashboard/{orgId}/mia. The panel on the left holds New chat, a Search chats box and every past conversation, so the thread where you got a request right last week is still there. The centre of a fresh workspace reads Hi, I'm Mia, with the line: your staffing copilot. Create clients, roles, and candidates, find info across your org, and set up interviews.
Under the greeting the actions are grouped. Hiring holds Create a job for a guided job setup, Add a round to a job, Create a company, Schedule a candidate to add and book an interview, and Move candidate stage. Sourcing holds Find a candidate by name or email, Top candidates by skill for an AI match, Candidate report for interview scores, Best for a role to compare and recommend, and Awaiting review for who to shortlist. Reports is a third group, collapsed until you open it. The composer at the bottom reads Ask Mia to create a job, find a candidate, start an interview.
Type what you want in plain language, for example create a backend role for Nimbus Fintech. Mia asks for whatever is still missing rather than guessing at it. What comes back is a real role in the workspace, the same one the three step Create role wizard produces, with Job details, Requirements and Commercial filled in. Open it and check the requirement levels yourself before you add rounds. Those levels are what resume screening runs on.

Who are the top five for the backend role returns ranked candidates with the reason behind each ranking, which is the part that sorting a table by score does not give you. Top candidates by skill runs an AI match across your whole pool. Awaiting review answers who to shortlist. Best for a role compares and recommends. All of these read, none of them write, so nothing is confirmed and nothing changes.
Move candidate stage advances someone on the ATS board. Schedule a candidate adds the candidate and books the interview in one request. Both of those write to your workspace, so both come back as a confirmation first, and the confirmation states exactly what will happen. Read it, then confirm. The line under the composer says the same thing: Mia is an AI assistant and can make mistakes, review actions before confirming.

The failure mode worth knowing about is Mia not finding something you can see on screen. Descriptions are ambiguous and exact strings are not, so give it the exact role title or the candidate's email address rather than the senior backend person we spoke to on Tuesday. If a phrasing worked before, Search chats in the left panel finds that thread.
Mia is one surface over a set of tools. MCP is the other. Connect Expert Hire to ChatGPT or Claude as a custom app and the same jobs, candidates, interview rounds, workflows, scheduling and analytics tools are available inside that chat instead, scoped to your organisation in exactly the same way. Financial actions, team admin changes and destructive operations are deliberately left off the MCP surface. Use Mia when you are already in the workspace, and MCP when you are not.
OpenAI hasn't reviewed this MCP server. Attackers may attempt to steal your data or trick the model into taking unintended actions, including destroying data.
