Turn on ChatGPT Developer mode, create a New App pointing at the Expert Hire MCP server, sign in once with OAuth, and work your jobs, candidates and rounds in plain language.
Open ChatGPT and start a New chat. In the search bar click the plus icon. The options that appear are Images, Library, Deep research, Apps and GPTs. Select Apps. This is the built-in Apps platform, and it is where a custom MCP server gets added. Nothing about this step touches Expert Hire yet.
On the Apps page, find the Settings gear icon in the top-right corner and click it. The settings panel opens over the page.
In the settings panel make sure the Apps tab is selected in the left nav. The right pane is headed Enabled apps, with the subtitle Manage enabled apps ChatGPT can use in your chats and an Add more button in the corner. Under the list of enabled apps sits a row called Advanced settings with a gear icon. Click it. Below that is a Drafts heading, which holds the private apps you have created in developer mode.

Find the Developer mode toggle and switch it on. It is off by default and carries an Elevated risk label, with the line Allows you to add unverified connectors that could modify or erase data permanently. Memory is disabled. Use at your own risk. A security notice appears when you flip it. Review it and confirm.
On the Advanced settings screen click Create app. A New App form opens. This is the form that carries the Expert Hire server details, and nothing is connected until you submit it.
The form asks for an optional icon, a Name, an optional Description, the MCP Server URL and an Authentication method. Enter the four values below. Under Authentication there is an Advanced OAuth settings row for reviewing the discovered OAuth settings or entering them manually, which a standard setup does not need. An amber bar warns that custom MCP servers introduce risk, and a checkbox reading I understand and want to continue has to be accepted if it appears.

Click Create and wait a few seconds while ChatGPT verifies the connection. Expert Hire then appears in your Enabled apps list, and you can start asking for things in plain language instead of clicking through the workspace.
