Apply to a campus drive

Complete the placement profile, filter open drives to the ones you are eligible for, read the eligibility list, apply, then track every application by stage.

Before you start

  • Placements switched on for your college. Colleges choose which modules to enable, so if Placements is not in your sidebar it is off for you.
  • A student account signed in with the exact email address your invitation went to.
  • Your resume, your CGPA exactly as it appears on your transcript, and your Aadhaar number, category and address for the KYC section. The Apply button reads Complete profile to apply until those are in.
Steps

8 steps, in order.

1

Open Placements and read the summary banner

Click Placements in the sidebar. It opens on Open drives, with three tabs: Open drives, My applications and Profile. Above them sits the summary banner: your placement status, whether your profile is complete, and four counts for Applied, Shortlisted, Offers and Yet to apply. The bell in the top right carries updates on your applications. Read the banner before anything else. It tells you in one line whether you are able to apply at all.

2

Finish the placement profile before drives open

Open the Profile tab. A profile strength ring sits top right and moves as you complete fields, and an alert bar names exactly which fields are still missing. The form runs in four blocks. Contact takes name, email, phone, gender and date of birth. Personal and KYC takes your Aadhaar number, category and parent details. Address takes city, state and pincode. Education takes branch or specialisation, pass-out year, UG CGPA and any current backlogs. The left panel holds your parsed resume, with an Update resume button if it is empty or out of date. Press Save profile. Fields with errors are highlighted and the page scrolls to the first one.

  • Do this before drives open, not the night one closes. An incomplete profile is the single most common reason students miss a deadline.
  • The resume on this tab is the one recruiters receive with every application, so keep it current.
  • Enter your CGPA exactly as it appears on your transcript. Eligibility is checked automatically against that number.
  • If every field is greyed out, your placement cell has frozen profiles for the season. Contact them if something genuinely needs changing.
3

Filter the drive list down to what you can actually apply to

Back on Open drives, the filter row holds job type, company, branch and a minimum and maximum CTC, plus two toggles: Eligible and not applied, and Show closed. Eligible and not applied is the useful one. It hides drives you cannot apply to and drives you already have. Each card shows the company, the role, the pay range and a deadline countdown, with a pill reading Applied, Closed or Closing soon.

  • Check drives at least twice a week. Deadlines are short and a closed drive cannot be reopened for you.
4

Know why a drive is or is not on your list

On your placement cell's side a drive moves through draft, proposed, published and closed, and a filled drive gets its own pill. You only ever see published drives. A drive being built over several days is invisible to you until someone presses Publish, so an empty list is more often a season that has not started than a fault. If you can see no drives at all, either none are published yet or your filters are hiding them, and Reset clears the filters.

The placement cell's Drives board. A drive stays a draft until it is published, and only published drives reach your Open drives tab.

5

Open the drive and read the eligibility list

Clicking a card opens the drive on the right. The header carries the company, the role, the industry, a website link and the apply-by date. Under it sit Opening overview with type, CTC and location, the job description, required skills, any documents, and Eligibility criteria. Eligibility is not a single yes or no. Every rule is listed on its own line with a pass or a fail, and a fail names the reason, for example an active backlog or already being placed.

  • Being ineligible on CGPA is fixed by your college, not by the portal. Talk to your placement cell rather than applying again.
6

Use Prepare for this role before you apply, not after

Every drive carries a Prepare for this role block. It does two things: score your resume against this specific drive, and book a mock interview pre-filled with the drive's company, role and details. The resume check takes seconds and tells you whether to fix the resume before applying, which is the only point at which fixing it still helps.

The resume check runs against one target role, which is what the drive gives it.

7

Apply

Press Apply. You choose which resume to send, answer the questions your placement cell added to the application form, and tick the consent box. If the button reads Complete profile to apply instead, go back to the Profile tab and fill the required fields the alert bar lists. Once the application is in, the card pill changes to Applied and the drive detail offers a link straight to My applications.

8

Track it, then respond to an offer

My applications is a table of role, company, offer, stage and the one action available, and each row also says what happens next in plain words. Stages run applied, under review, shortlisted, interview, offer pending, accepted, declined, not selected and withdrawn. Withdraw removes an application, but not after the deadline has passed. When an offer arrives you get Accept and Decline, and accepting shows the full package first. After that, Add offer details is where you record your CTC and upload the signed offer letter.

Where the offer you record lands on your placement cell's side, as rolled, accepted or joined.

  • Upload the signed offer letter promptly. Your college uses it to confirm the placement.
  • Accepting an offer marks you as placed and automatically withdraws your other active applications. Read the confirmation dialog before you click.
  • Declining is final. You cannot take that offer again.
What you get

At the end of this guide.

A placement profile at full strength, so no drive can block you on a missing field.

A drive list filtered to what you are eligible for and have not already applied to.

A rule by rule eligibility read on every drive, with the reason when you fail one.

A resume checked against the specific drive before you apply, not after.

Every application tracked by stage, with the next step written on the row.

An offer recorded against your name with the signed letter attached.

Common mistakes

What goes wrong, and the fix.

Filling the placement profile the night a deadline closes.

An incomplete profile is the most common reason students miss a drive. Complete it before the season opens.

Rounding your CGPA up on the Education block.

Eligibility is checked automatically against the number you enter. Put in exactly what your transcript says.

Applying again to a drive that says Not eligible.

Open it and read the eligibility list. It names the exact rule you fail, and a CGPA rule is fixed by your placement cell, not by reapplying.

Running the resume check after applying.

Prepare for this role takes seconds. Run it first, so there is still time to fix what it finds.

Pressing Accept to see what the offer is.

Accepting marks you placed and withdraws your other active applications. The dialog shows the full package first, so read it.
