Best AI interview tools that integrate with Greenhouse, and how each one connects

The best AI interview tools that integrate with Greenhouse are Greenhouse's own Voice AI add-on, for teams that want one vendor, plus third-party interviewers such as Ribbon, HeyMilo, Alex, Sapia.ai, Interviewer.AI and Expert Hire (in early access). Most start an interview at a pipeline stage and write a score, transcript or recording link back to the candidate.
With Greenhouse AI interview integrations, the names matter less than how each one is wired in. Some live in your interview plan as a test stage, and some sync jobs and candidates through the Greenhouse API. One is Greenhouse itself. Below, we sort them by that, then say what to check before you switch one on.
Key Takeaways
Our position: pick a Greenhouse AI interviewer by what it writes back to the candidate record and who controls the decision, not by the logo on the partner page.
Greenhouse now sells its own AI interviewer, Voice AI, as an add-on. It's the default every other tool has to beat, so start your comparison there.
Third-party tools connect in two main ways: as an assessment stage in your interview plan, or through a Harvest API key that syncs jobs and candidates.
Ask whether a tool can advance or reject candidates in Greenhouse on its own, and whether that's opt-in.
Expert Hire's Greenhouse connector is available today in early access. It isn't a Greenhouse marketplace partner listing, and we say so plainly.
The best AI interview tools that integrate with Greenhouse: the short answer
If you want the fewest moving parts, look at Greenhouse Voice AI first. If you need something it doesn't do, a third-party tool earns its place. Think phone screens at volume, SMS, video, or a tech round with code.
Here's the list, grouped by what each tool does best:
Built in: Greenhouse Voice AI.
Voice and phone screens at volume: Ribbon.
Multi-channel screening (SMS, voice, video): HeyMilo, Alex.
Chat-based interviews: Sapia.ai, Talent Pronto.
Assessment-stage AI interviews: Interviewer.AI, InterviewFlowAI.
Technical first rounds with coding: Expert Hire.
Checked November 2, 2026: a few facts worth having to hand, each from the vendor's or Greenhouse's own page.
As of November 2026, Greenhouse Voice AI is "Available to Core, Plus, and Pro subscription tiers with the Voice AI add-on," and interviews in 11 languages (Greenhouse support).
Greenhouse says Voice AI "integrates with 60+ ATS platforms" and goes "deepest inside Greenhouse Recruiting" (same support article).
HeyMilo's setup starts with a Greenhouse Harvest API key with permissions for Activity Feed, Applications, Candidates, Jobs and Users (heymilo.ai).
As of November 2026, Greenhouse's own MCP server "is currently in Open Beta and available to all Site Admins" on its Core, Plus and Pro tiers (greenhouse.com).
Expert Hire's Greenhouse connector is in early access, with "bidirectional sync, reportcard push-back and automatic job import" (experthire.io/integrations/greenhouse).
Greenhouse Voice AI: the built-in option and when it's enough
Greenhouse Voice AI runs "a two-way voice conversation with dynamic follow-up questions." It scores answers against what your recruiters and hiring managers set. Your team gets "the transcript, score and supporting rationale, then decides who moves forward."
Its cheat checks use voice signals to flag moments when a candidate may be getting outside help. Greenhouse says "Every flag is marked to an exact moment in the transcript," and your team reviews the evidence before deciding. It's sold as a yearly plan based on head count, not per seat. Greenhouse doesn't publish a price.
Voice AI is enough when your first round is a voice screen and you'd rather not add a vendor. Look elsewhere when you need SMS or video, more languages, or a round where the candidate writes code. That's also the honest answer to anyone searching for Greenhouse Voice AI alternatives.
Three ways an AI interview tool connects to Greenhouse
Before you compare vendors, know which kind of AI interviewer Greenhouse integration you're buying. It decides what your recruiters see, and who sets it up.
1. An assessment stage in your interview plan. The tool shows up as a test stage in a job's interview plan. A recruiter clicks "Send Test," and the result comes back as a link to the vendor's report. Greenhouse support shows this for Interviewer.AI and InterviewFlowAI.
2. A Harvest API key connection. You make a Harvest API key in Greenhouse and paste it into the vendor's app. The tool then pulls in jobs and writes results back to the candidate record. HeyMilo and Expert Hire both use this setup.
3. Greenhouse's own Voice AI. No third party at all. It's an add-on inside Greenhouse, so there's nothing to connect. But you get only what Voice AI does.
Some vendors mix these. HeyMilo, for example, uses a Harvest key. It also gives Greenhouse support an assessment key, so it can show up as a test stage too.
AI interview tools with Greenhouse integrations, compared
Each entry says what the tool does, how it connects and what lands back in Greenhouse. Pricing is "not published" unless the vendor shows a number.
Ribbon
Ribbon runs "24/7 AI phone screens." When a call ends, it posts a note to the candidate record with a recording link, a short summary, a transcript and scores. You pick which jobs and stages start a Ribbon call, and where the ATS allows it, Ribbon can also "auto-advance or disposition candidates." Pricing: not published. Our Ribbon alternatives page goes head to head.
HeyMilo
HeyMilo says you can "Add HeyMilo as a native assessment in your interview kits." Moving a candidate to a set stage sends the invite on its own. It runs SMS screens, resume checks and voice or video interviews, and scores land on the candidate profile. Pricing: not published.
Alex
Alex is listed in the Greenhouse partner marketplace. It says it "bi-directionally syncs with Greenhouse": it pulls in new jobs and pushes recordings, transcripts and scores back to the candidate. It runs video or voice interviews and "flags AI-generated responses or cheating attempts." Pricing: not published.
Sapia.ai
Sapia.ai leads with a text chat interview, and its Greenhouse page describes a two-stage chat and video process. After the Greenhouse application, candidates go on to the chat, which has "5 structured interview questions." The scores then show up in Greenhouse. Pricing: not published.
Interviewer.AI and InterviewFlowAI
Both use the assessment-stage pattern, per Greenhouse support's articles on Interviewer.AI and InterviewFlowAI. You add the tool to a job's interview plan, then use "Send Test." For InterviewFlowAI, the Interview Kit links to its own platform, where the "recording, transcript, and evaluation details can be viewed." Pricing: not published for either.
Talent Pronto
Talent Pronto's AI interviewer, Anna, interviews "every candidate the moment they apply" in a text conversation, not a call. It says it "Works inside your existing Greenhouse stages." As of November 2026, its ATS-integrated plan is listed at "as low as $1.00" per completed interview, with a 30-day free trial (talentpronto.ai/pricing).
Also on most lists, not reviewed here: AI Screened (listed in Greenhouse's partner directory), Hello Recruiter, Fairgo.ai and Veton AI.
Expert Hire
Expert Hire is an AI interview platform for staffing agencies, hiring teams and campuses: it runs structured AI interviews and coding tests, scores them against your rubric, and gives each candidate a report card, priced per workspace from $99 a month. Its Greenhouse connector is in early access. It imports jobs and writes the report card back to the candidate.
The Greenhouse integration page says: "Greenhouse is available today in early access, with bidirectional sync, reportcard push-back and automatic job import." So it isn't a read-only connector.
Our setup guide has you paste in a Greenhouse Harvest API key, then import jobs or create a job sync. In the guide's words, when a round is scored, "the reportcard, the score and the reviewer-facing summary are written back onto the Greenhouse record," and "nothing is auto-rejected by the integration."
Linking an ATS unlocks at Starter and up. Every plan, the trial too, has its own pipeline board. Pricing is per workspace, never per seat: Explorer $99, Starter $249, Growth $499 a month, and Scale is custom. The 30-day trial comes with 75 Hire Credits.
As for limits, the connector is in early access and isn't listed in the Greenhouse partner marketplace. Lever and Ashby are supported, with those integrations rolling out, and Bullhorn is on the roadmap. The Greenhouse integration itself never rejects anyone. Expert Hire's auto-shortlist and auto-reject cutoffs are opt-in and off by default, so there's no black-box pass/fail.
Where interview intelligence fits instead
Not every Greenhouse team needs an AI interviewer. Some want help with the interviews their own people run. That's a different job.
BrightHire is the best-known example. Its Greenhouse partner page says it gives you "compliant recordings, transcripts, and AI notes after the call," and lets you "Instantly submit scorecards to Greenhouse by auto-syncing your AI notes." It records your own people. It doesn't run the interview. For more on the split, read what interview intelligence records and what it can't score.

What to check before you connect one
Whatever you pick, run through these before you turn it on for a live job. For a checklist that covers every ATS, not only Greenhouse, see our guide to AI interview ATS integration.
Who generates the key, and with what access? Harvest keys can carry wide access. Give the tool only what its own docs ask for. Here's how the Expert Hire connector is set up, as one example.
Which stage sends the invite? Pick one stage per job and test it on a fake candidate first.
What gets written back? A score alone isn't enough. Look for the transcript and a recording link, or a full report like the one in our guide on how to read a candidate report.
Can it advance or reject on its own? Some tools can where Greenhouse allows it. Make sure that's opt-in, and that a person reviews before anyone is turned away.
Who reviews flags? Cheat and fraud flags should go to a person, not straight to a rejection.
Frequently asked questions
What are the best AI interview tools that integrate with Greenhouse?
Greenhouse's own Voice AI add-on is the place to start. Third-party options include Ribbon for voice screens, HeyMilo and Alex for multi-channel screening, Sapia.ai and Talent Pronto for chat interviews, and Interviewer.AI and InterviewFlowAI as assessment stages. Expert Hire covers technical first rounds, in early access.
Does Greenhouse have its own AI interviewer?
Yes. Greenhouse Voice AI is a two-way voice interviewer, available on Core, Plus and Pro tiers as an add-on. It's often enough for a voice screen. Teams that need coding or system design rounds, SMS or video add a third-party tool.
Does Expert Hire integrate with Greenhouse?
Yes, in early access. The connector imports jobs, syncs candidates both ways and pushes the report card back to the Greenhouse record. It needs a Harvest API key and unlocks at Starter and above. Details are on the Expert Hire Greenhouse page.
Can an AI interviewer reject candidates in Greenhouse automatically?
Some can. Ribbon says it can auto-advance or disposition candidates where the ATS supports it. With Expert Hire, auto-shortlist and auto-reject thresholds are opt-in and off by default, so every result has a transcript and scores a person can check.
What permissions does a Greenhouse AI interview integration need?
It depends on the tool. HeyMilo asks for a Harvest API key with Activity Feed, Applications, Candidates, Jobs and Users permissions. Expert Hire uses one Harvest API key both to import jobs and candidates and to write the report card back to the record. Assessment-stage tools may need Greenhouse support to turn on the stage.
The bottom line
Greenhouse Voice AI is the default, and for a plain voice screen it may be all you need. Look further when your first round has to test what a voice screen can't, like code.
Whichever tool you trial, judge it on what lands back on the candidate record. If your first round is technical, see how the Expert Hire Greenhouse connector works and run it on the 30-day trial.
